Inside A Fit Pro’s Head

You’ve worked hard for the winter, it’s finally bright outside and the weather is generally amazing for training outdoors.  Time to enjoy working out with the sun on your back and a smile on your face.  My favourite time to get out and enjoy the long day and warm nights.

It’s kind of a weird one as in Ireland, we struggle through the winter months and then when it’s actually lovely to train outside decide to give up and let our results slip.

Why?

I’m not quite sure, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Surely results and progress are just as important if not more so in the summer when you are actually going to wear more revealing clothes such as shorts/Skirts / Vests and Summer dresses.

We seem to come from a culture that is happy to go from fit to fat and up and down depending what time of the year it is.

We give ourselves an uphill battle when “Taking a break” for the summer / Christmas.

It drives me up the wall as we as fitness professionals work our back sides off  to get results under pressure, giving everything to help get life changing  things happen and then see it all thrown away over a few months of “Taking A BreaK”

Starting back from square one.

What floats my boat, is when peeps commit, get results, become happier, healthier and the best version of themselves, sustain said results and remain happier, healthier and the best version of themselves.

Simple.

If you know you are at your happiest when eating clean, feeling amazing with your training and enjoying it, why stop and go back to that place and person you weren’t happy being in the first place, that led you to make that tough decision to change.

And it doesn’t get much easier the second time let me tell you.

Beats me…

You see what I’ve learnt about succeeding at things I am involved in over the years is this…..

Consistency and commitment to whatever it is you put your mind to, is key

There’s a difference between interest and commitment.

When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. 

When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results 

 

But the good news, this isn’t necessarily your fault.

This can often be a simple case of needing to re wire your brain to finally stop your weight yo yoing and continuously Sabotaging yourself and eating with emotion and preventing your commitment and enthusiasm wavering when it comes to getting and sustaining results.
