6 Rules of Sticking to Your Health and Fitness Program

 

STOP what you are doing and read this if you are struggling with your health and fitness, but are ready to make a positive change.

And/or

You have hit rock bottom and need help to get rid of that unwanted weight that’s crept on the last few months/years and you don’t know how to shift it.

Sticking to your nutrition and training plan!

I’m gonna cut to the chase…

What you need to do STEP BY STEP!

 

Set Goals

It can be quite easy to drift through a program, not really having any plan in place or goal to achieve. It’s crucial to write down on your phone/piece of paper what you’d like to achieve over a certain time scale, make it achievable/realistic but also challenging and a little scary. Work back from where you would like to be in 12 months, then 10 months, then 8 months, 6 months etc until you get your 1st 4 week block. It doesn’t have to be weight related, it can be clothes size, run a marathon etc make it specific!

Get Clear Direction

Get clear direction of what you need to do to reach that goal. Correct nutrition, exercise, overall health etc. My best advice is to get a coach to help you with this. I have coaches who help me with stuff I am not good at. If you want to succeed long term, you need one.

Be (made) Accountable

If you have no one looking over your shoulder, it makes it very easy to skip a session or to make poor food choices that are actually pushing you further away from your goals rather than closer to them, without you realising it.

Learn all about what you are doing

Knowledge is power as they say. Learn everything you possibly can about nutrition. What you are putting into your body, why you are doing what you are doing and how much food you should be eating. Food can be the best form of medicine or the slowest form of poison. Ps if you think skinny lattes are healthy and helping you lose fat and get healthy, we NEED to chat.

Have a Support Network around you for the Hard Times

When you are feeling weak and vulnerable, that’s the time you need a 24/7 support network around you to help you get through the tough times of breaking bad habits and reinforcing new ones! Ever tried giving up sugar for a week. Try it and let me know how it goes with no support.

Make sure you choose the best most effective program with a gym with a good reputation and tangeable, proven results. If price is your only concern, you will get what you pay for and results will be limited.

Ok so you’re in a place where you are ready for action and willing to put the effort in. There will be nothing that will halt you in your tracks quicker than not getting results or injuring yourself from doing ineffective exercises with poor technique from coaches with an online gym instructors qualification who haven’t left their couch to get it.
